INDUSTRIAL CHINESE CONTEXT (BEIJING AREA)
THE PEOPLE OF INDUSTRIAL CHINA
Within China's grandiose business sector are thousands of men and women on a pilgrimage to work everyday. To get to work, a majority of China rides bikes. In China, approximately 430 million bikers were reported making biking the number one means of individual mobility in the country, with cars being a close second. As you can guess, with so many "suicide scooters" on the road, driving in China is a chore in its own right, and this causes accidents to be a major problem in this area. For language, expect Mandarin, but even if you know Mandarin it may be a little hard for you to understand at first, as within Beijing and surrounding areas, a strong dialect is heard in the people, similar to America's Southern accent.

THE BEAUTY OF THE CHINESE CITYSCAPE
In the historical heart of Beijing lies several serene landscapes that are a must see when visiting the People's Republic. The Forbidden City is one of them, dating all the way back Ming and Qing dynasties, this colossal castle encased several Chinese emperors. This site is also where the imperial gardens used to lie and are considered to be an artform in themselve they were so beautiful. Approximately 144 museums are located throughout the country showing art, pottery, architecture, history, and science. The skyline of Beijing is also a feat to behold, as, due to air pollution, it is generally hard to see.

CHALLENGES FACING INDUSTRIAL CHINA
Problems facing this area are prominent as, due to being a business sector, overpopulation, pollution, and the loss of Chinese culture are commonplace problems that need to be solved. Approximately 500,000 people move into Beijing each year and the population present has doubled since 1999. The sheer amount of people crammed into the city has caused food, water, and housing shortages as well as sanitation ceasing to support the growing mass of people present. Pollution is also a big problem within this sector of China as smog has been veiling most of China for over 10 years, and the overpopulation is not helping with this ecological epiphany that something has to be done. With the rise in population, national parks and other monuments are being torn down to increase housing capacity which, in turn, has been slowing chiseling China's past away. I mentioned several ways the business sector is trying to remove pollution, but several other problems remain that the people of China need to overcome.
